My Thanksgiving Watch List

turkeyA long weekend is finally coming up and what better way to spend it than watching movies (why do you think I got into the biz in the first place?) So this is my “you-should-see-these-at-least-once-in-your-life-for-Thanksgiving” list and in order of importance as well.

Alice5. Alice’s Restaurant – If you’re familiar with the song, and like the song then you’ll like the movie version of the song. However, if you’re not familiar with the song, the movie will probably be sort of  “trippy.”

Planes Trains4. Planes Trains and Automobiles – I’ve had to rent a car once at Thanksgiving in Boston and a certain scene in this movie tells the tale oh-so-well.

Miracle3. Miracle on 34th Street – Yes it’s old. Yes it is in black and white (unless you’re watching the colorized version and if you are..stop it right now). Yes it may seem schmaltzy by today’s standards BUT no matter what you say this is still an awesome movie. Granted it’s mostly associated with Christmas but it does take place during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade so I’m including it. Plus Maureen O’Hara is smokin’.

charlie brown2. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving – It’s not the holiday season until Rudolph, Grinch, Frosty and good ol’  Chuck start popping up on the TV. But of course, every year, it reminds me of why I really don’t like Peppermint Patty and what does Marcie see in her anyway? Stymied by that.

thankskilling1. ThanksKilling – Seriously, “Gobble, gobble #&*@r” how could one NOT love this movie. A homicidal, rampaging turkey. ‘Nuff said.
